ONE . . . TIMES TWO!

What a treat to see these twins again on such a special day--their birthday! Oh, how they have grown!  Here's a small sneak peek for C. and J.'s parents and grandparents, who are likely still recovering from the big party this weekend. More soon!

And the piece de resitance--the inquisitive head-tilt.  Love!

ONE.

It truly seems like just yesterday that I photographed W. as a newborn and at six months.  How is it possible that he is one already?  It was so wonderful to see you again, P. family!  Here's a small sneak peek for you.

Can you hear the giggles?

FUN. TIMES TWO.

Just a little over a month ago I photographed adorable twin one-year-old boys in the studio and yesterday I met yet another dynamic one-year-old duo.  I am doubly (or, um, quadruply??? don't cringe, my fellow grammar-loving friends) blessed!  We captured so many lovely images of these two on-the-go little guys (and yes, even some together! :)) but here is a but a small sneak peek for E. and K.  It was wonderful to meet you!

I love the image on the right . . . though it could easily be cropped to focus on one of these adorable guys, I just love the "man down!" aspect of seeing a brotherly lump in the foreground.  Because let's face it, when you are raising twin boys, it's probably an hourly occurrence that one is down while the other is up. : )

What a great day it was outside yesterday morning, too. Perfect for flying or just a little rest.  Thanks again, H. family!

Psssst . . . photographer friends . . . have you been to the WordSmith blog lately?  A new goody is in the shop!  Stay tuned for more guides to come this summer, plus a new JSP blog as well as a super-secret new site (our last blog post gives a hint!).

I DECLARE HIM . . . A BABY!

As I sit here on the night before the last day of Kindergarten, I realize that I can no longer fool myself into thinking that my 5 (and three quarters!) year old is still a "baby."  A first grader is many things, but a baby, sadly, is not one of them.

When I met L. on Friday to photograph adorable C., who just turned one mere weeks ago, she mentioned that she'd already received some comments that her baby was now a toddler.  So, tonight as I decided whether to categorize this post as "babies" or "children" I did as any mama would do . . . err on the side of baby!  :)

Prepare yourself for the cuteness that is Mr. C. Thank you, H. family!  It was so lovely to meet you!

Of course we had to include "big brother" Chase!

Peace out, all! (I had to say it.)

LOCALLY GROWN

Kristina first contacted me over two years ago to inquire about gift certificates for members of her staff at James--what a thoughtful gesture! Remember these adorable little ones?

It's no surprise, then, that a James employee wrote to me when Kristina was expecting and we surprised her with a certificate of her own.  It was with great pleasure, then, that I finally greeted and photographed my "old friend" and her family this weekend. Kristina and her husband Jim clearly have a passion for life that's evident in their careers and no less so in the love they have for sweet D., 10 months old. He is clearly, clearly adored! It was a treat to spend the morning with them; here's a quick sneak peek of some of the moments we captured! We even caught a few teetering steps (very exciting!) and I can't wait to share them in the full gallery.

I adored the mural in D.'s nursery . . . you can see more of the same artist's work if you visit the James site. It was a treat to see it when we walked through the restaurant quickly to go outside (it also reminded me that I do not get out for dinner nearly as much as I should these days!).

Is this not the cutest smile you have seen in . . . oh . . . forever?

Housekeeping note: I will be closed this Friday through Sunday for the second extraordinary workshop. All e-mails and phone calls will be returned beginning Monday. I can't wait to meet the new group of photographers who are flying in Friday but, if the last workshop is any indication, I will not exactly have time for e-mail! Thank you for your patience!
